Mission Statement of the Catholic Community of Wesleyan University  

The Catholic Community of Wesleyan University, inspired by the radical life and teaching of Jesus Christ, seeks to grow intellectually, physically, emotionally, and spiritually in all aspects of university life.  We represent a diversity of people, perspectives, and restless hearts who seek the truth through inquiry, dialogue, and the practice of Gospel values.  We strive to build a community that is committed to the common good and that is animated by mutual love and respect.  We embrace the rich intellectual and aesthetic traditions of our Catholic faith, celebrate the wonderful gifts of God’s love in prayer, especially, the Eucharist, and endeavor to create a more just, peaceful, and sustainable society through service to others.  We are proud to be both “Wesleyan weird” and “fools for Christ.”
